A traditional Japanese angling technique, Tenkara is a style of fixed-line fly fishing (no reel required), which provides anglers with many of the same benefits of Euro nymphing – increased sensitivity, reduced slack, more hook-ups – in a simpler, more compact, and less expensive set up! While many think of Tenkara as a small water, small fish technique, it can be equally effective on larger species when used correctly.

In this class, you'll learn the tackle, rigging, and presentations necessary to Tenkara fish across the country! Special emphasis will be placed on effectively fighting large fish on Tenkara.
