Aquatic Entomology

  • Memorial Park 600 North Lee Street Round Rock, TX, 78664 United States (map)

We often get questions along the lines of “How will I know what fly to use and when?” While there is no shortcut for time and experience, there is a path of study that can prepare you for most destinations: learning to identify your aquatic and terrestrial insects!

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn to identify local aquatic insect species, how to properly match your Hill Country hatch, and the part our insects play in fly selection and design. This class is fun for kids and adults alike! If you would like to be part of the sampling, please wear waders and boots! Otherwise, the remainder of class will take place on the bank.
